The one place in my house that is suppose to get things their cleanest is actually a huge disorganized mess…
This was my laundry closet as of 1:00pm Saturday afternoon. To the right, is the stackable washer/dryer but to the left is a cavernous black hole where cleaning products go to die. Upon moving in in July, I just piled ‘things’ in there, and, as there are no shelves, there the ‘things’ stayed. However, I have BIG plans for this space, starting with this…
I picked up this little sweetie in the discount aisle at Home Depot. It’s a sink vanity that was missing its top so I was able to purchase it for only $25, a far cry from even the least expensive lower kitchen cabinet bases which were running around $100+. I went back today to order a custom laminate counter top that will stretch across from the washer/dryer to the wall on the left (that wheel cart thingy will go away) and provide a nice space on which to place folded clothes.
The bonus is that the door style and knobs of this cabinet are pretty similar to the existing bathroom vanity (this closet is in the bathroom)…
I love the simplicity of Shaker-style doors paired with brush nickel hardware. Will be painting the closet, installing the counter top, and adding shelves in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for updates to my laundry closet makeover!
