Before I get in to the details of this post, I want to share that last weekend was the prom and, after months of planning, all went splendidly! I had planned on taking copious amounts of pictures but as I went to replace the batteries in my external flash, I realized I had left my actual camera battery (freshly and fully charged I might add) at home! Thus, I will have to wait until I get the candids back from the photographer before I write a post with details. Let one picture suffice for now…
My co-advisor and I in all our glory! I designed and printed out several fun photo booth style props for the students to use in their pictures, but not before we tried them out!
Okay, on to the post! My friend Tori is getting married next summer and has asked me to be one of her bridesmaids! Yay! We’ve already checked off a couple items from her wedding planning ‘to do’ list…
The wedding dress has been found (note, picture below is NOT of the actual dress):
The bridesmaids’ dresses have been purchased:
Tori chose the Blakely dress in silk taffeta from JCrew. The color is ‘dark pacific’ and is a really pretty shade of navy blue. Instead of purchasing the dresses from JCrew, we found ours on Ebay for half the price!
The wedding flowers have been decided upon:
A few months ago Tori and I went to a workshop to learn how to ‘build our own bouquets and centerpieces’. We learned some practical tips and she will be saving money buy purchasing the flowers directly from a wholesaler instead of paying retail. While she made a mock up of her bouquet, I made a colorful centerpiece to take with me to work!
