In my never ending quest to organize the closets in my house, into which I simply stuffed ‘stuff’ upon moving in, I finally tackled this mess:
Believe it or not, that’s my tool box (which is in reality the top of a W.B. Mason paper box)! All of the everyday items such as lights bulbs, batteries, screwdrivers, tape measure, etc. ended up in that box because it’s easily accessible as it is in the pantry closet in the kitchen. It was getting a bit difficult to find what I needed, however, so I came up with another solution:
I’ve used a clear shoe organizer on the back of my basement door to organize all my household essentials! I can see exactly what I need, when I need it!
Some of my everyday items include:
-Basic hand tools
-tape measure
-pencil, calculator, scissors
-garden gloves, bug spray
-paint can opener & drop cloth
-painters tape & duct tape
-trash bags
-batteries
-light bulbs
I’m thinking this would make a great housewarming gift…purchase a shoe organizer for around $5 and fill it with your everyday useful household items! I know it’s made my daily tasks much easier to accomplish and has used up some wasted space behind the basement door.

Good idea. I used the same technique to organize hats and gloves and other winter accessories.

Hi Aubree! Yes, I would've done the same with the winter hats, etc. as you've mentioned but I have a pocket door in my entryway so it wouldn't work! Thanks for stopping by!
