August 25, 2012 by Crafty Teacher Lady +

It's back-to-school time and I've been very busy making preparations as I start this year teaching at a new school. I've brought a couple car loads of books and other materials from their summer home in my basement to my new classroom. I have a 'home base' classroom where my desk is located but will also be teaching in two other rooms so I bought myself a little cart to wheel from room to

August 11, 2012 by Crafty Teacher Lady +

Did you you that Maine is the number one producer of low-bush blueberries in North America? Did you know that wild blueberries are the official fruit of Maine?  No?  Well now you do!  You can find low-bush blueberries growing wild all across the state.  I can remember many August days spent picking blueberries as a snack in between kickball games in my neighborhood when I was a

A Big Change

August 9, 2012 by Crafty Teacher Lady +

This change brings with it a full range of

I love a good thrift store visit…the only items th I love a good thrift store visit…the only items that came home with us were the beach chair (we needed one), the mini chalkboard (which I’ll take to school to display the “quote of the week”), and the cute New Balance sneakers. Stay tuned for part 2 where I show you all the things that caught the eye of my five year old!! 🤣🥰🎉👏🏻
We took our 4th annual trip to @storylandnh and as We took our 4th annual trip to @storylandnh and as we sat to take a break, this character came over to say hello. Our daughter has worked so hard in physical therapy to overcome some gross motor challenges related to balance and coordination, most notably learning to walk independently. With some encouragement, she stood up and walked over for a hug! This seemingly mundane moment for most families is SUCH a huge milestone for us- one that is a culmination of YEARS of hard work. Words cannot express how proud I am to be her mom and to have a front row seat to true determination, perseverance, and patience…today was an awesome day and makes me so hopeful for the future! 💗
My home state of Maine will forever have my heart- My home state of Maine will forever have my heart- I miss it every day but feel so lucky I get to come back home for much of the summer to fill my cup right up to the brim! I hope my daughter is building core memories of her time here each summer as well…video captured while on a July Fourth family cruise in front of Portland Head Light in Cape Elizabeth, Maine.

Still can’t believe this is our backyard…I was get Still can’t believe this is our backyard…I was getting ready for bed and I looked out my window and saw both a deer and a bunny and pretty much felt just like Snow White! I can’t get enough of these cute visitors (and also know I won’t be spending a ton on landscaping since most plants won’t stand a chance)! 🤣
Spring is the time to shine for the two cherry tre Spring is the time to shine for the two cherry trees in our backyard…watching them bloom has been nothing short of magical. And the scent of the blossoms!! Absolutely divine!

Buying an older home vs building new can have its perks- one being an established yard (which I just fell in love with). We’ve got neighbors all around, however, the backyard feels pretty private thanks to landscaping done years ago by the previous owners!
