This is the second post in my 'Teaching Financial Literacy' series and today I'd like to address my former personal finance students! You can also listen to a podcast interview where I address my experiences teaching personal finance HERE!  Hey Kids, Do remember when you were in SPFC (Senior Personal Finance & Citizenship) and didn't know if you'd ever use the information we were

Thrift Store Teacher Outfit Ideas

August 7, 2017 by Crafty Teacher Lady +

One of my favorite back-to-school traditions is going shopping for 'new' teacher clothes at all of my local Goodwill stores. I take a day and make the rounds to 5 or 6 of my area stores in search of great bargains on stylish & professional outfits! Upon looking through my closet recently, I noticed that at least 50% of my current wardrobe came from thrift stores. I often receive compliments on

June 19, 2017 by Crafty Teacher Lady +

Summer break is upon us and I finally have time to share something I've been growing increasingly passionate about during the last several years...FINANCIAL LITERACY! The course would be focused on both

Our daughter has worked so hard in physical therapy to overcome some gross motor challenges related to balance and coordination, most notably learning to walk independently. With some encouragement, she stood up and walked over for a hug! This seemingly mundane moment for most families is SUCH a huge milestone for us- one that is a culmination of YEARS of hard work. Words cannot express how proud I am to be her mom and to have a front row seat to true determination, perseverance, and patience…today was an awesome day and makes me so hopeful for the future! 💗
My home state of Maine will forever have my heart- My home state of Maine will forever have my heart- I miss it every day but feel so lucky I get to come back home for much of the summer to fill my cup right up to the brim! I hope my daughter is building core memories of her time here each summer as well…video captured while on a July Fourth family cruise in front of Portland Head Light in Cape Elizabeth, Maine.

I can’t get enough of these cute visitors (and also know I won’t be spending a ton on landscaping since most plants won’t stand a chance)! 🤣
Spring is the time to shine for the two cherry tre Spring is the time to shine for the two cherry trees in our backyard…watching them bloom has been nothing short of magical. And the scent of the blossoms!! Absolutely divine!

Buying an older home vs building new can have its perks- one being an established yard (which I just fell in love with). We’ve got neighbors all around, however, the backyard feels pretty private thanks to landscaping done years ago by the previous owners!
Facebook Marketplace for the win! I’m so in love w Facebook Marketplace for the win! I’m so in love with my recent find…the curves are just so darling! I often see many great finds on Marketplace but because I don’t have a truck or trailer, I have to miss out on a lot. I knew this desk would fit in the back of my SUV so I jumped at the chance to grab it. What’s your favorite secondhand find?
