A New Year and A New Post!

January 16, 2010 by Crafty Teacher Lady +

I haven't posted for a long time (since this past summer I think) but I have been doing lots of crafts nonetheless! I sold my condo (YAY!) and am now crafting out of a very cramped but functional spare room at my parent's house while I save for a house of my own! So, here's what I've been up to:Scrapbook MapOver holiday break I had time to create a project that I had been wanting to do for a

I have my sewing room back!

August 9, 2009 by Crafty Teacher Lady +

My exchange student left yesterday morning and what was the very first thing I did after dropping her off? Drive right over to the fabric store! My guest room is also my sewing/craft room so while she was here I didn't create anything! This first thing I decided to make was a decorative pennant flag banner for my classroom. I used red, white, and blue fabrics (I am an American history teacher

The Best Blueberry Jam EVER!

August 9, 2009 by Crafty Teacher Lady +

Yes folks, the time has come for blueberry season which means homemade BLUEBERRY JAM! I made jam for the very first time last summer and gave it away to friends and family. I was told that it was the best they had ever had; not to bad for a recipe I found online after entering "easy blueberry jam recipe" in the search bar. Come to find out, canning and jarring food is quite the process. Since

We took our 4th annual trip to @storylandnh and as We took our 4th annual trip to @storylandnh and as we sat to take a break, this character came over to say hello. Our daughter has worked so hard in physical therapy to overcome some gross motor challenges related to balance and coordination, most notably learning to walk independently. With some encouragement, she stood up and walked over for a hug! This seemingly mundane moment for most families is SUCH a huge milestone for us- one that is a culmination of YEARS of hard work. Words cannot express how proud I am to be her mom and to have a front row seat to true determination, perseverance, and patience…today was an awesome day and makes me so hopeful for the future! 💗
My home state of Maine will forever have my heart- My home state of Maine will forever have my heart- I miss it every day but feel so lucky I get to come back home for much of the summer to fill my cup right up to the brim! I hope my daughter is building core memories of her time here each summer as well…video captured while on a July Fourth family cruise in front of Portland Head Light in Cape Elizabeth, Maine.

Still can’t believe this is our backyard…I was get Still can’t believe this is our backyard…I was getting ready for bed and I looked out my window and saw both a deer and a bunny and pretty much felt just like Snow White! I can’t get enough of these cute visitors (and also know I won’t be spending a ton on landscaping since most plants won’t stand a chance)! 🤣
Spring is the time to shine for the two cherry tre Spring is the time to shine for the two cherry trees in our backyard…watching them bloom has been nothing short of magical. And the scent of the blossoms!! Absolutely divine!

Buying an older home vs building new can have its perks- one being an established yard (which I just fell in love with). We’ve got neighbors all around, however, the backyard feels pretty private thanks to landscaping done years ago by the previous owners!
Facebook Marketplace for the win! I’m so in love w Facebook Marketplace for the win! I’m so in love with my recent find…the curves are just so darling! I often see many great finds on Marketplace but because I don’t have a truck or trailer, I have to miss out on a lot. I knew this desk would fit in the back of my SUV so I jumped at the chance to grab it. What’s your favorite secondhand find?
