Well Isn’t That Clever!

January 27, 2012 by Crafty Teacher Lady +

I’m totally and utterly obsessed with Pinterest as I am totally and utterly impressed by what other people come up with!  You know, those ideas where you think ‘why didn’t I think of that?’.  One of my boards is entitled “Well Isn’t That Clever” and is a place to pin really awesome, useful ideas!  Like…

Using toilet paper rolls to keep wrapping paper from unrolling!
Turning an old tissue box into a place to store plastic bags
(I have a box in the pantry, in the laundry room, and in the basement)
Using the heat from a hair dryer to easily remove those pesky stickers & labels that never seem to want to come off!
Cutting up a 1 or 2 liter bottle to use as a drip catcher on a drink dispenser!

Lining refrigerator shelves with Press ‘n Seal wrap…when the shelves are dirty, simply toss and replace!

Using painter’s tape to evenly space a picture gallery…seriously, how have I never thought of this?

Organizing ribbon by threading spools through dowels and ends through the holes in a plastic basket!

And finally, using a plastic cereal container with lid, line with a plastic bag, and viola…a perfect trash can for you car!

The sources for the images above can be found using the links on my Pinterest board.  Explore the board for more ideas and links to people’s pages that are far more creative than I’ll ever be!

Our daughter has worked so hard in physical therapy to overcome some gross motor challenges related to balance and coordination, most notably learning to walk independently. With some encouragement, she stood up and walked over for a hug! This seemingly mundane moment for most families is SUCH a huge milestone for us- one that is a culmination of YEARS of hard work. Words cannot express how proud I am to be her mom and to have a front row seat to true determination, perseverance, and patience…today was an awesome day and makes me so hopeful for the future! 💗
My home state of Maine will forever have my heart- My home state of Maine will forever have my heart- I miss it every day but feel so lucky I get to come back home for much of the summer to fill my cup right up to the brim! I hope my daughter is building core memories of her time here each summer as well…video captured while on a July Fourth family cruise in front of Portland Head Light in Cape Elizabeth, Maine.

I can’t get enough of these cute visitors (and also know I won’t be spending a ton on landscaping since most plants won’t stand a chance)! 🤣
Spring is the time to shine for the two cherry tre Spring is the time to shine for the two cherry trees in our backyard…watching them bloom has been nothing short of magical. And the scent of the blossoms!! Absolutely divine!

Buying an older home vs building new can have its perks- one being an established yard (which I just fell in love with). We’ve got neighbors all around, however, the backyard feels pretty private thanks to landscaping done years ago by the previous owners!
Facebook Marketplace for the win! I’m so in love w Facebook Marketplace for the win! I’m so in love with my recent find…the curves are just so darling! I often see many great finds on Marketplace but because I don’t have a truck or trailer, I have to miss out on a lot. I knew this desk would fit in the back of my SUV so I jumped at the chance to grab it. What’s your favorite secondhand find?
